Kilgore College Theatre will hold open auditions for any aspiring actors or technicians who would like to be involved in its production of The Crucible by Arthur Miller, the first show of the 2017-18 season.
Auditions are open to the public and will be held 3:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, in Van Cliburn Auditorium on the Kilgore campus.
In addition to stage hands, light and sound technician and costumers, KC Theatre is looking for 10 actors and 10 actresses to fill the cast of the full-length dramatic classic.
“Due to the play’s demand for such a large cast, we are opening up our audition process to anyone from the community who has an interest in being on stage or backstage for this production,” said Micah Goodding, KC theatre instructor.
The play will run Oct. 12-15 at KC.
About The Crucible:
The story focuses upon a young farmer, his wife and a young servant-girl who maliciously causes the wife's arrest for witchcraft. The farmer brings the girl to court to admit the lie—and it is here that the monstrous course of bigotry and deceit is terrifyingly depicted. The farmer, instead of saving his wife, finds himself also accused of witchcraft and ultimately condemned with a host of others.
